JOB SUMMARY

The Product Manager for Glass Veil is part of the team for developing and implementing business strategies for its product lines, in order to maximize short and long-term profitable growth and market adequation for ADFORS Europe.
- He/She leads the whole lifecycle of its product portfolio, from development of next product generation with R&D to support of homologation processes at customers with Sales & Plant. He/She plays a unique role in the organization, working in network with multiple departments (Sales, Marketing, other Product Management peers, Quality, Operations, R&D….), acting as a hub for information sharing, prioritization and actions meeting business objectives. He/She leverages advanced technical expertise on product applications, technology and design, as well as authority on markets, competitive situations and product profitability.
SPECIFIC TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Head of Product Management, Industrial Fabrics, operating in an international & diverse environment, the Product Manager has the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Thoroughly understand the markets, with a specific focus on Roofing market, and products in terms of the entire product cycle to end-user in order to determine current business conditions and future trends and developments. Identify new and expanding markets and applications for its product line; through collaboration with sales, direct interaction with customers and prospects, gathering intelligence on customers, applications and competitors.
- Translate these elements into new product development roadmap, co-built with R&D and Process Development teams
- Develop and implement annual and long-term business plans for new product technology and development
- Support the Sales organization in major homologation projects, steering specific product development & sampling with Manufacturing & Quality teams, while disseminating product line knowledge within the Sales & Marketing organization to allow faster time-to-market & identification of business opportunities. This includes performing regular trainings & promoting/structuring market/product knowledge sharing.
- Work with Manufacturing & Purchasing teams to identify & implement product improvement priorities (technical, cost, raw materials…) based on the needs and gaps identified for the product line
- Analyze costs and provide minimum pricing recommendation & directions for margin improvement initiatives (setting pricing/performance strategies, reviewing product design, raw materials, sourcing, manufacturing…)
- Manage lifecycle of complete product portfolio, including rationalization of slow movers / less strategic references
- Create an open environment for collaboration, best-practices and knowledge sharing amongst manufacturing plants, as it relates to product performance, product manufacturing, quality, potential customer claims.... Actively contribute to identification, business case & implementation of major capex related to its product lines.
The position will require a minimum of 25-30% travel, which consists mainly of customers’ and our plants’ visits.
The location of the position is preferred in Litomysl plant, CZ minimum 3 days per week.
PRACTICAL/ TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communications & interpersonal skills, able to relate well and influence organizations with diverse stakeholders’ profiles both inside and outside the company. Ability to precisely translate customer needs & to deliver clear and convincing communications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Remains alert for new technologies, products, applications and market conditions. Passion for the customer and demonstrated ability to create an open, customer-centric innovation playground.
- Possess ability to make independent decisions as well as operate in a team environment. Systematically retrieves information relevant to an issue to develop a decision or course of action, and foster collaboration among involved stakeholders.
- Encourages and develops durable and balanced cooperation with his/her professional internal and external contacts; Displays great creativity in finding genuinely new solutions and having them tried out, assessed and deployed
- Proficient in English, Czech speaking is a plus.
- Bachelor/ or Master degree, with business / industrial and manufacturing related fields. Must possess demonstrated ability and strong technical knowledge of manufacturing or Sales/Marketing Management for the assigned products.
